One of the largest and most scenically located castles in Poland. Erected at the beginning of the 16th century by a potent, magnate family – the Firlej family. It was a modern, bastion-type castle, adapted for the use of firearms. Until the end of the 18th century, the castle fulfilled a role of a magnate residence which was visited by Polish kings and other notable guests, among others, Jan Kochanowiski from the near-by Czarnolas.
A water storage reservoir with a total area of 14ha which has been created in Janowice village, by the River Plewka near Janowiec.
The Chamber is run by a self-taught sculptor, Zygmunt Kozak. He is the author of a couple of hundreds of sculptures and reliefs on a variety of themes: sacral, natural, and patriotic.
